Environment and energy: controllable aspects!
A raw material such as coal
tar must be dealt with carefully. In the green heart of Holland,
Cindu was confronted early on with the necessity of reducing the
aspects of manufacturing which present a burden to the environment.
This was achieved by working together closely with the local and national
government.
Cindu can now be characterised as a clean industry. We offer room
for development in the fields of economical energy management and
environmental protection. In these fields, Cindu fulfils a pioneer's
function in the industrial branch. . Many foreign guests come to Uithoorn to be impressed by the energy saving and environment-protecting techniques, which are developed and applied within the Cindu complex. One example is an extraction installation for the exhaust of the vapours, which are then incinerated.
Cindu also has a bacteriological waste water treatment system, so
that only clean water is discharged into the Amstel river.
We took an important step forward
when a partition wall was installed in the ground surrounding the
Cindu complex in 1989. Now further soil pollution is a thing of
the past.

Energy saving through reuse of waste heat
Handling energy sensibly is an integral part of
the modern chemical industry. At Cindu, we have translated that
idea into the spirit of recycling. This means that waste heat is
reused at another location. All of Cindu's installations are meticulously
controlled with respect to the best possible use of energy.
